Kristallen (the Crystal) City Hall, with its golden lobby measuring almost 30 meters in ceiling height, is a welcoming place in the middle of the new Kiruna city centre. In addition to the municipality’s employees, it is home to a unique art collection owned by the Municipality of Kiruna, as well as a lively exhibition program at the Kin Museum of Contemporary Art.
Get acquainted with duodji – Sámi crafts – and some of the most famous Sámi and Norrbottnian artists: Britta Marakatt-Labba, Aili Kangas, Katarina Pirak Sikku, Katarina Spik Skum, Anders Sunna, Inga-Wiktoria Påve, Nils-Johan Labba, and Johan Turi. Classics such as Helmer Osslund, Sven Xet Erixon, and Solveig Backlund are also represented.
The guided tour lasts approximately 60 minutes and provides an exciting introduction to the architecture, the historical art collection, and the lively art scene at Kin.
